Important instructions for use:

Intended Use The Cholesterol Test Strips, used with a cholesterol meter, quantitatively measure total cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein (HDL), and triglycerides in human whole blood, plasma, and serum. These strips are intended for professional in vitro diagnostic use only.

Summary Cholesterol, encompassing triglycerides and various lipids such as phospholipids, glycolipids, sterols, and steroids, is crucial for the basic metabolism of living cells and is abundantly present in the human body.

Principle of Operation and Reference Values When a sample is applied to the test strip, it infiltrates rapidly. In the case of whole blood, blood cells are filtered out, allowing the plasma to reach the reaction layer where it interacts with enzymes and chemicals. This interaction results in a color change, the intensity of which correlates directly with the cholesterol concentration. The meter measures this intensity at a wavelength of 635nm and calculates the concentrations of total cholesterol, HDL, triglycerides, and low-density lipoprotein.

Reagents The test strips contain the following reagents, with concentrations based on the dry weight at the time of impregnation and subject to manufacturing tolerances:

  • Cholesterol Esterase: >0.3U
  • Cholesterol Oxidase: >0.16U
  • 4-Aminoantipyrine: >0.06mg
  • Dextran Sulfate (HDL only): >0.5mg
• Triglycerides
  • Lipoprotein Esterase: >0.35U
  • Glycerol Kinase: >0.5U
  • Glycerol phosphate oxidase: >0.1U
  • 4-Aminoantipyrine: >0.09mg
